Long considered one of Charlotte’s hottest neighborhoods, Dilworth was originally created as Charlotte’s first street-car suburb. Now, its proximity to downtown makes Dilworth popular with center city workers. Dilworth is designated as historic, and has many homes listed on the National Registry. Most homes were built from the early 1900s to the ’30s and are filled with fascinating architectural details and great history. The wide tree-lined streets and neighborly attitude add to the charm. Latta Park, a 43-acre refuge in the center of the Dilworth neighborhood homes for sale, features a playground, basketball courts and quaint walking trails. Dilworth is also the home to Charlotte’s largest hospital – Carolinas Medical Center – and a number of booming businesses. Residents enjoy walking to restaurants and shops on East Boulevard and South End. Check out Copper, a modern Indian restaurant in a house where Carson McCullers lived while writing “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter.”
